Cover the FlawsThe "Down and Dirty" of Anti-Aging Makeup For years, I resisted wearing more than a little blush, eye shadow, and some mascara. Then, as the big 4-0 was approaching, I wanted to cover and fill in those new little lines that had begun appearing, so I starting using foundation on a regular basis. Didn't really care for the painted look, but it seemed much better than going bare faced. The problem with the color cosmetics that were available was that they did their job so well. Foundation was meant to cover, and cover it did. So well that skin couldn't breathe, and became dull-looking and lifeless. When you have ho-hum skin, you want to cover it up and brighten your face a bit. That means job security for your cosmetics. Then, a few years ago, natural mineral makeup made its modern premiere. The ancient Egyptians are well-known for their love of makeup, used by both men and women. This enterprising culture utilized colored clays and vegetable juices to enhance their looks. 
There's nothing new under the sun, and in the late 1990's mineral makeup was introduced on the TV shopping channel. It was a great concept, and the public (and loads of other cosmetics companies) jumped on for the ride.
